Kitchen, Bathroom & Basement Remodeling from Your Neighbors in Aspen Hill, Maryland.
Our office is right here in Aspen Hill, so this is our own neighborhood, not just a service area. Much of Aspen Hill was built in the decades after World War II, and many homes are ramblers, split-levels and colonials from the 1950s through the 1970s. We update them with new kitchens, bathrooms, basements, floors, doors and windows. Every estimate is free.
Split-levels and colonials here often have a lower level that is only half used. We frame, insulate and finish Aspen Hill basements into family rooms, guest suites and home offices.
Many Aspen Hill bathrooms still have their original tile and tubs. We remodel them with new showers, tile, vanities and fixtures, sized to fit your space.
Older kitchens were built for a different way of cooking. We plan Aspen Hill kitchens around how you use them today, with better storage, counters and lighting.
From hardwood refinishing to new vinyl plank, we install floors across Aspen Hill. We check and fix the subfloor first, so the new floor stays flat and quiet.
An old front door lets in drafts and dates the whole house. We install entry, patio, sliding and storm doors in Aspen Hill homes, and every estimate is free.
Original windows in mid-century homes often leak air. We install energy-efficient replacement windows, including ProVia, measured to fit each opening.
Basement Remodeling
Many Aspen Hill split-levels and colonials have a lower level that is only half used: bare concrete, a laundry corner and storage boxes. We turn that space into rooms your family will use every day, like a family room, a guest suite, a home office or a playroom. First, we check for moisture and fix any water problems, because a finished basement has to stay dry. Then we frame, insulate, run electrical and lighting, hang drywall and install flooring that holds up below grade. If you want a bedroom down there, we plan the egress window the code requires. We also handle the Montgomery County permits, so the work is inspected and on record.
Bathroom Remodeling
From a quick update to a full remodel, done right behind the tile.
A lot of Aspen Hill bathrooms still have the original tile, tubs and small vanities from when the house was built. We can remodel the whole room or just update what you need, from a tub-to-shower conversion to new tile, vanities, toilets, lighting and fixtures. Older homes can hide problems behind the tile, like leaking pipes or a soft subfloor, so we fix those before anything new goes in. On one Aspen Hill bathroom, we took the room down to the subfloor, set a shower base with a linear drain, and tiled the walls and floor. We finished it with sliding glass doors, a pedestal sink and a frameless mirror.
Kitchen Remodeling
Kitchens in Aspen Hill's 1950s–1970s homes were often built small and closed off from the dining room, with little counter space and not enough outlets for today's appliances. We plan your new kitchen around how you cook and live now. That can mean new cabinets with better storage, new countertops, a tile backsplash, better lighting, and updated plumbing and electrical. If you want a more open layout, we check whether a wall can come down and handle the permits if it can. Our designer helps you choose the layout, finishes and colors, so you see the plan before any work starts.
Flooring Installation
Hardwood, vinyl plank and tile, installed on a solid subfloor.
We install and refinish floors in every room of Aspen Hill homes. Many houses here have the original hardwood under old carpet, and often we can sand and refinish it instead of replacing it. We also install luxury vinyl plank and tile, which work well in kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Before any new floor goes down, we check the subfloor and fix soft or uneven spots, so the new floor stays flat and quiet. On a home renovation in Aspen Hill, we installed wood-look vinyl plank flooring with new white baseboards after hanging new drywall and painting.
Door Installation
The front door is the first thing people see, and in many Aspen Hill homes it's also where drafts get in. We replace entry doors, patio and sliding doors, storm doors and interior doors. Each door is fitted and sealed so it closes tight and locks smoothly. We can match your home's style, whether that's a classic colonial entry with sidelights or a modern glass design. Inside the house, new interior doors can change the look of a whole room. On one Aspen Hill renovation, we installed a black-framed door with frosted-look glass panels.
Window Replacement
Energy-efficient windows, measured to fit each opening.
Many Aspen Hill homes still have their original windows, or early replacements that now leak air, fog up or stick when you open them. New energy-efficient windows help keep the house warmer in winter, cooler in summer and quieter all year. We install replacement windows, including ProVia, and measure each opening so the new window fits properly. We take out the old window, install and insulate the new one, then finish the trim inside and out. We can replace a few windows or every window in the house, and every estimate is free.
Home Remodeling Process
Being local means we're never far from your project. First, we visit for a free consultation. Next, we handle the design, planning and permits. Then our crew completes the work with care. Finally, we walk through every detail with you before we call the job done.

Hugo and Gaby from Real Time Home Improvement did a great job on our kitchen remodel in Bethesda, Maryland. They gave us a free estimate and a free design, and they helped us raise our cabinets all the way to the ceiling, which made more room in the kitchen. They were on site for most of the major stages and made sure everything ran smoothly. We were happy every step of the way.+0Posted on Google![]()

Hugo and his team did a great job! They were on time, professional, and got everything taken care of. They leveled the subfloor and installed the LVP after I had a huge flooring issue in my bathroom. They also reattached my vanity, toilet, and tub, and reran all the plumbing because it had been leaking and was not installed correctly previously. They did a wonderful job, and I would definitely recommend Hugo and his team for any future renovations. He’s a five-star guy!Posted on Google![]()

Hugo and his team were great to work with. I noticed my bathtub sinking and they were able to get me an estimate quickly with a more than reasonable price. Subfloor repair was thorough and they were able to identify a broken pipe causing the damage. They also repaired a significant portion of plumbing to prevent this type of damage from happening again. Would highly recommend this team, and if I have any other home projects I will certainly be giving them a call.Posted on Google![]()

Hugo and his team led a full basement renovation and concrete driveway installation at our home. They finished both jobs concurrently and were on time and on budget in both regards. It was a pleasure working with the team and I would not hesitate to use Real Time again for large or small projects.
