Quality Kitchen, Bathroom & Basement Remodeling in Hagerstown, Maryland
Hagerstown is home to historic neighborhoods like Oak Hill and Potomac-Broadway, along with newer subdivisions across Washington County. Whether you live in an older home with original character or a newer single-family house, Real Time Home Improvement can update your kitchen, bathroom, or basement with quality craftsmanship and a clear plan. With 10+ years of experience, we travel from our Rockville base to serve Hagerstown homeowners, and owner Hugo manages every project in person. Every estimate is free.
Turn your Hagerstown basement into a family room, guest suite, or home office. Older basements often need moisture fixes first, so we check before we frame, insulate, and finish the space.
We update Hagerstown bathrooms with new tile, vanities, and walk-in showers, and fix hidden problems like leaks and soft subfloors along the way.
We remodel Hagerstown kitchens with new cabinets, countertops, and lighting, and can rework older layouts so the space fits the way you live today.
We install hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, and tile in Hagerstown homes, and level older subfloors first for a smooth, lasting finish.
We install entry, patio, sliding, and storm doors in Hagerstown homes. If your home is in a historic district, exterior changes need approval first, and we plan for that.
We replace drafty windows in Hagerstown homes with energy-efficient ProVia windows that keep your home comfortable through every season.
Basement Remodeling
Hagerstown has many older homes with stone or block foundations and basements that were never meant to be lived in, along with newer homes that have large, open basements ready to finish. In older houses, we look for moisture first and fix it, whether that means sealing walls, improving drainage or adding a sump pump. Then we frame, insulate, run electrical and lighting, and finish with drywall, trim and basement-rated flooring. A finished basement can become a family room, guest suite or home office. We handle the permits with the City of Hagerstown or Washington County.
Bathroom Remodeling
New tile, vanities and walk-in showers, built on a solid base.
Bathrooms in Hagerstown's older homes often hide problems like slow leaks, rotted subfloor and old pipes. We find and fix them before the new bathroom goes in. Then we install tile showers or tubs, new vanities, toilets, lighting and fans, and we waterproof every shower properly. In newer homes, we replace builder-grade tubs and vanities with walk-in showers and finishes you choose. Either way, you get a bathroom that is easy to clean and built to last.
Kitchen Remodeling
Kitchens in older Hagerstown homes are often small and closed off, with layouts that no longer fit how families cook and eat. We rework them where the structure allows, add storage and counter space, and install new cabinets, countertops, backsplash tile, lighting and flooring. In newer homes, we upgrade builder kitchens with better finishes and smarter storage. We update the electrical and plumbing as needed, and our designer helps you choose the layout and materials before any work starts.
Flooring Installation
Hardwood and vinyl plank installed in Washington County homes.
Many older Hagerstown homes have original hardwood that can be sanded and refinished, and we patch in matching boards where they are damaged. We also install new hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank and tile. Nearby in Williamsport, we installed new hardwood floors in a home. Before any floor goes in, we check the subfloor and fix soft spots and squeaks, so the new floor stays flat and quiet.
Door Installation
Older Hagerstown homes often have original doors that let in drafts and no longer close well, while newer homes may have builder doors that look plain. We install entry doors, storm doors, French and sliding patio doors and interior doors. For older houses, we choose styles with panels and glass that suit the home's character. Each door is set level, sealed and adjusted so it closes tight and locks smoothly. Every estimate is free.
Window Replacement
Energy-efficient windows for Hagerstown winters.
Hagerstown winters tend to be colder than they are closer to D.C., so drafty windows make a real difference in comfort and heating bills. We install energy-efficient replacement windows, including ProVia, measured to fit each opening. We remove the old window, install and insulate the new one, and finish the trim inside and out. In a historic neighborhood, we help you check whether exterior changes need approval before ordering. Every estimate is free.
Home Remodeling Process
Our process is simple. It starts with a free in-home consultation at your Hagerstown home. Next, our designer helps you plan the layout and choose finishes, and we handle the permits your project needs with the City of Hagerstown or Washington County. Then our crew completes the work while Hugo keeps you updated. Finally, we walk through the finished space with you to make sure everything meets our standards and yours.

In Hagerstown’s older homes, kitchens are often small and closed off, and bathrooms may still have original tile and plumbing. In newer subdivisions, the layout usually works, but builder-grade cabinets, laminate counters, and basic fixtures are ready for an upgrade. Either way, the kitchen and bathrooms are where a remodel makes the biggest difference in how your home feels every day.
We can rework the layout, add an island or more storage, and install new cabinets, quartz countertops, tile, and lighting. In older homes, we update the wiring and plumbing while the walls are open. Most kitchen remodels take 4 to 8 weeks of construction.
Popular choices include walk-in showers, tub-to-shower conversions, new vanities, and durable tile. We fix leaks and soft subfloors when we find them, and most bathroom remodels take 2 to 4 weeks of construction.
We handle the permits with the City of Hagerstown or Washington County. See our kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling services, or check typical prices in our remodeling cost guide.

Hugo and Gaby from Real Time Home Improvement did a great job on our kitchen remodel in Bethesda, Maryland. They gave us a free estimate and a free design, and they helped us raise our cabinets all the way to the ceiling, which made more room in the kitchen. They were on site for most of the major stages and made sure everything ran smoothly. We were happy every step of the way.+0Posted on Google![]()

Hugo and his team did a great job! They were on time, professional, and got everything taken care of. They leveled the subfloor and installed the LVP after I had a huge flooring issue in my bathroom. They also reattached my vanity, toilet, and tub, and reran all the plumbing because it had been leaking and was not installed correctly previously. They did a wonderful job, and I would definitely recommend Hugo and his team for any future renovations. He’s a five-star guy!Posted on Google![]()

Hugo and his team were great to work with. I noticed my bathtub sinking and they were able to get me an estimate quickly with a more than reasonable price. Subfloor repair was thorough and they were able to identify a broken pipe causing the damage. They also repaired a significant portion of plumbing to prevent this type of damage from happening again. Would highly recommend this team, and if I have any other home projects I will certainly be giving them a call.Posted on Google![]()

Hugo and his team led a full basement renovation and concrete driveway installation at our home. They finished both jobs concurrently and were on time and on budget in both regards. It was a pleasure working with the team and I would not hesitate to use Real Time again for large or small projects.
OUR WORK
Most remodels that change walls, plumbing, electrical, or heating and cooling need a permit. Homes inside Hagerstown city limits get permits from the City of Hagerstown, while homes elsewhere in the county go through Washington County. Real Time Home Improvement handles the permit process for you either way.
Yes. If your home is in one of Hagerstown’s historic districts, such as City Center, Oak Hill, South Prospect Street, or Potomac-Broadway, changes to the outside of the home need approval from the city’s Historic District Commission before a building permit is issued. Interior projects like kitchens and bathrooms don’t change the outside of your home, so they don’t need that review.
Yes. Older homes can hide outdated wiring, old plumbing, or uneven floors. We look for these issues early and include them in your plan, so there are fewer surprises once work starts.
A bathroom remodel usually takes 2 to 4 weeks, a kitchen 4 to 8 weeks, and a basement finish 6 to 10 weeks. Timing depends on the size of the project, materials, and permit approval. We give you a clear timeline with your free estimate.
